Holy Crap, Basra doesn’t look like a shithole anymore. It was not too long ago when I had to sleep in a coffin (photo). We were one of the first USAF troops in Basra before the US forces took command. It was fun hanging out and working with British Forces.
Basra, Iraq: I kinda miss the noise of sirens, rockets, mortars, C-RAMS, and the adrenalin. Luckily, I’m still alive and I cannot wait to deploy again.
