jessiv:

ive been wanting to share my thoughts on this “band” for a while. I came across Owl City over a year ago & when i first gave it a listen my initial reaction was “aw.. happy music, so cute”. I also obviously reacted with “postal service rip off”. This dude probably popped in “Give Up” and was like, woh so amazing! AKA what I thought when I first heard this unbelievable album. But he went as far as to rip it off, and if you cant hear that, you are retarded, and I hate saying retarded because it is politically incorrect. I am a little bummed he is being played on Kroq & everyone is singing that damn fireflies song everywhere I go. Don’t get me wrong, its super cute & a nice listen, but you know what I mean.
So I walk into work tonight and that song Rachel & I always make fun of/sing where it’s like “hellloooo seeeaatttlleee” comes on, I burst out laughing then go on folding t-shirts. Through out my shift the whole album played but with Mew & Jedi mind tricks in between. It was so obvious when an Owl City song would come on because he uses the same exact melody in each damn song, if I could record myself humming right now I would put it on here. And every song has some sort of city reference to it … oh … city … owl city .. I kind of get it now. My co-worker nick said to me at one point “ben gibbard sounds weird & whats with these lyrics?” I informed that this is not ben gibbard, but a chum that goes by the name Owl City. SO the point of my ranting is this dude sounds like the postal service but G-rated and rhymes words like bad sad & dad .. oh and has a song about going to the dentist.
the end.

I hate that every hipster thinks that they can make music with MiniKorg, GarageBand, and Auto-tune but If you got no talentzZ you ain’t going on top of the charts! Don’t get me wrong, Adam Young is a talented man, He makes good tunes/melodies/poetic lines/etc.
