Welcome Back! Your deployment to Guam must be really tough
6/2/2009 - WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. — Whiteman leadership, friends and families welcomed more than 200 Airmen home May 29 and May 31 following a deployment to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.
…”Deterrence is a principle part of our mission and a major part of that is demonstrating our ability to deploy to other parts of the world,” Colonel Robinson said. “Of course when the deployment is over, we are always happy to get our Airmen back home safely to be with their loved ones. When called upon, the 509th Bomb Wing stands ready to answer its Nations call.”
I guess they did their part but how about our Airmen who are/were deployed to the (real) A.O.R. like Iraq and Afghanistan for six to twelve months risking their lives by dodging mortars, rockets and snipers and working 12+ hour shifts six days a weeks and sometimes they have to sacrifice their days off just to accomplish the mission.
I think they deserve a recognition also… I’m just saying
Welcome back I guess
